Bufus Outlaw
Mr. Bufus Outlaw, Founder and CEO of BOE Securities Inc., brings more than 20 years of experience in the investment research, strategy, and corporate finance business. He is licensed in Series 7, 24, 27 and 63. Mr. Outlaw satisfied his entrepreneurial spirit by starting his own brokerage firm, BOE Securities, as a private research-oriented brokerage firm in 1997. BOE Securities has since flourished into a leading minority-owned investment boutique, with four offices around the country, which now serves the research needs of some of the country's largest institutions. The firm serves global institutional investors by providing independent research opinions on over 100 companies with leading market positions as well as professional trade executions. BOE Securities is a proud member of the NASD and SIPC, with seats on the Chicago Stock Exchange. Mr. Outlaw began his career in 1981 with 3M Corporation, where his duties included business planning, investment proposal evaluation, and profit and loss analysis. In 1987, Mr. Outlaw joined First Bank Systems as a corporate finance associate, where he assisted in structuring bank financing proposals. Subsequently, he worked for Ryder Systems (1988-90) as a financial analyst, where he led corporate planning, acquisitions and divestiture projects. From 1990 to 1997, he was a Principal and Director of Research for Sturdivant & Company, Inc., a leading minority-owned investment firm managing over $1 billion in equity assets. He earned an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago in 1987. While at the University of Chicago, he served as President of the Black MBA Association, Business Manager of the Chicago Business Newspaper, and was a member of CAPM (Chicago Approach to Portfolio Management). Attending Howard University on a full athletic scholarship (football), Mr. Outlaw is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He earned his BBA in Accounting in 1982. Mr. Outlaw is a Philadelphia native and graduate of South Philadelphia High School. Mr. Outlaw has served on the board of directors of the BOE Foundation and NOBLE (National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives). He was a member of the RISA delegation which traveled to South Africa in March 1999. Mr. Outlaw resides in Moorestown, New Jersey with his wife and three children. |
