Carrie Endries joined RISA's board of directors in November 2005.
Dr. Endries has been engaged with international development for many years. Her interest in South Africa began in the late 1980s with the anti-apartheid and divestment movements.
Her professional experience includes working for Forrester Research, developing and interpreting technical data for clients, planning international events and participating in business development for foreign offices. In 2005, she graduated from Harvard University with a Ph.D. in History, qualified to teach in the fields of Latin America, Africa and the United States. Until August 2006, Dr. Endries was a lecturer and teaching consultant at Harvard. She currently consults for a private investment advisory firm in Boston.
In the past, Dr. Endries has been involved with a number of social justice organizations and also spent time fundraising and planning events for Camp Starfish, a program for emotionally and behaviorally challenged children. She received her BA magna cum laude from Bowdoin College where she spent semesters abroad in Berlin and Santiago, Chile.
Currently Dr. Endries resides in San Francisco.
