Mr. Cosby is a member of Africa Venture Partners, which he joined after working for Eskom Enterprises completing mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital raising assignments to grow long-term shareholder value for Eskom Enterprises' pan-African expansion. At Eskom, he principally focused on assisting the CEO and CFO by formulating and executing financing and corporate strategies for a R10 billion energy and telecommunications portfolio. Mr. Cosby joined Eskom in early 2003 after completing numerous capital raising and corporate strategy assignments for clients operating in Africa during the previous two years.
Prior to focusing on financing ventures in African countries, Mr. Cosby was an investment banker for a number of institutions, including Berwind Financial Group, Bank of America Securities and BancBoston Robertson Stephens, where he focused on leveraged, structured and project finance transactions for clients in Europe, Latin America and the U.S.
Mr. Cosby began his career as a financial analyst with CoreStates Bank in the Asset Based Finance and Telecommunications Group(s).
Mr. Cosby has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Stockton College, and an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Michigan.
